About GVN

The Global Volunteer Network (GVN) offers volunteer service opportunities in community projects around the world. We currently provide volunteer programs through our partner organizations in 21 countries throughout South America, Africa and Asia. The network continues to expand with new programs currently being researched and assessed.

Our vision is to support the work of local community organizations in developing countries through the placement of international volunteers. We believe that local communities are in the best position to determine their needs, and we provide volunteers to help them achieve their goals.

2 Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects
Mandate

Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects enriches our community by strengthening its identity through theatrical production, theatre arts programming and community-based initiatives. Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects connects the community in its entirety. We do this by offering: Affordable live theatre of challenging artistic merit; Workshops and theatrical opportunities for the citizens of St. Catharines and Niagara Region; and, Educational programming and professional development initiatives.

3 Manifesto|Jamaica
Who We Be

Manifesto|Jamaica is the Kingston-based sibling organization of Manifesto in Toronto, Canada. Toronto’s Festival of Community & Culture is an annual event that started in September 2007. Having grown to become the largest urban arts festival in Canada, the Manifesto brand has begun to spread its wings to other parts of the world. The first such location is Jamaica.

The Manifesto|Jamaica mission is to empower the youth through arts and culture. This ART’ical Empowerment will be attained by strengthening the local and international networks of youth artists, by disseminating toolkits and other necessary information via this network and by influencing government policies related to the development of the creative industries. The group’s mandate is to Educate, Expose & Empower. It does this primarily through events and workshops.
